    Mr. Chairman,
    It was with great interest that I read the interview you gave to the « Les Echos » French economic newspaper published on November 13, 2006.
    When asked « What do you plan to do to avoid this type of problem in the future? » (referring to the recent scandal relating to espionage among the members of the Board of Directors of your Company), you answered: code of conduct, ethics, accountability.
    In reaction to your statement, I am taking this opportunity to call to your attention the dispute that has opposed me against HP France for the last 10 years.
    The Company I managed and myself – in my two-fold capacity of Manager and Shareholder – are the victims of conduct that has been found to constitute fraud by a French Court of Appeals. The case against HP France has now been referred to the Criminal Court of Caen (which judges criminal offences) per Decision dated October 10, 2006 as HP France has been indicted on charges of attempted fraud in connection with a Court Decision. HP France deliberately produced a forged document in the court proceedings in order to obtain a decision in its favor (attached hereto is the Decision rendered October 10, 2006 and an English translation).
    I am convinced that your statements do not simply amount to good intentions and I would therefore ask what Hewlett Packard intends to do about this case at the corporate level.
