A l’aube du 11 septembre 2012 … je ne résiste pas à vous faire partager quelques photos prises par votre aimable serviteur (servante …?) que j’estime édifiantes. Ces dernières ne cherchent pas à montrer des dégâts occasionnés par la chute des avions sur les tours du World Trade Center … mais bien au contraire l’ampleur du chantier de reconstruction du site ou plutôt du World Trade Transportation Hub. Histoire mine de rien de pouvoir identifier à qui pourrait bien « profiter le crime » ….

Un nouveau hub de transport – véritable noeud de transit –  s’érigeait en effet dans le cadre d’un formidable chantier prévu pour une durée  de près de dix années, lors de mon passage à New-York en juillet 2009.

A noter tout d’abord plusieurs points : qu’un des dangers qui semblent le plus préoccuper les autorités locales semble être … la cigarette … un magnifique panneau « No Smoking » attestant mes dires en quelque sorte …

Quant au risque qu’un avion s’écrase à nouveau sur les fameuses tours, certes désormais en devenir … il ne semble pas perturber tant que cela l’un des – rares – gardiens du chantier, ce dernier semblant même prompt à dormir sur ces deux oreilles.

Certes, le chantier est interdit au public mais les « petits filoux » et curieux comme auront pu « contempler » le chantier et prendre des photos par la fenêtre en se plaçant sur la passerelle qui fait le tour.

Ce qui fit dire à mon entourage – excusez-le pour son cynisme – que c’est tout de même quelque part ennuyeux qu’il y ait eu le 11 septembre, « parce que maintenant, on est obligé de faire le tour de la place à cause du chantier de reconstruction » … Peut-être le signe,  aussi,  que rien sur  murs et façades ne permettent de lui rappeler ce qui fut une sinistre journée pour les habitants de New York, pompiers, policiers et secouristes.

S’agissant de la solidité de fenêtres et des réservoirs d’eau présents sur les toits alentours … habitant la région toulousaine et ayant pu voir de mes propres  yeux les suites de la catastrophe dite AZF survenue quelques jours à peine après le 11 septembre, j’ai beaucoup d’admiration pour les excellentes – voire quasi irréalistes – qualités de resistance des produits proposés par les vitriers et constructeurs américains.

A ma connaissance, ni les vendeurs de vitres ni les laveurs de carreaux auraient fait fortune outre Atlantique après l’écroulement des deux tours du World Trade Center. L’effet magique d’Impulse, peut-être ?

Quoiqu’il en soit, je vous laisse apprécier les photos, lesquelles valent parfois mieux qu’un long discours.
Quant au magasin qui se situe juste en face du chantier – magasin dénommé « Century 21 » (image subliminale pour rappeler l’importance du secteur immobilier dans ce bas monde ? )- il est dans tous les guides de la ville,  étant extrêmement réputé pour les bonnes affaires qu’il offre à ses clients.

De si bonnes affaires, qui attirent tant de monde … qu’on n’y est absolument pas fouillé à l’entrée – par crainte éventuelle d’un attentat – le plan Vigipirate n’étant absolument pas en vigueur à New York (les sacs poubelles jonchant le sol de la cité attestant mes dires) … mais à la sortie … par crainte des vols.
