Les métaux platinoïdes, platine et palladium, auront largement bénéficié des bons chiffres publiés cette semaine relatifs à l’industrie automobile US, le secteur constituant leur principal débouché.
2012 aura en effet été une année record pour les ventes de voitures aux Etats-Unis, de telles performances commerciales n’ayant pas été observées depuis 2007.
Les matières premières auront également pu bénéficier du regain de confiance des investisseurs, provoqué par l’accord sur le budget US.
Jeudi, le prix de l’once de platine aura ainsi grimpé à 1.579,48 dollars, atteignant son plus haut depuis deux semaines.
Mercredi, c’est l’once de palladium qui atteignait 718,18 dollars, son niveau le plus élevé en dix mois.
Au final, sur le London Platinum and Palladium Market, l’once de platine achevait la semaine à 1.557 dollars contre 1.527 dollars vendredi dernier. L’once de palladium finissait pour sa part à 689 dollars contre 704 dollars en fin de semaine dernière.
