Décidément, la volonté américaine de mettre aux bans l’Iran – réagissant aux menaces de Téhéran de bloquer le Détroit d’Ormuz – ne fait pas que des heureux, surtout à l’heure ou le pétrole se fait rare sur la planète.
C’est ainsi que la Corée du sud vient de laisser entendre qu’elle souhaitait être exemptée des nouvelles sanctions US visant à restreindre les exportations de pétrole d’Iran.
Un haut responsable sud-coréen ainsi récemment déclaré que de telles mesures inquiétant beaucoup son pays, soulignant que l’Iran est un exportateur clé de pétrole pour la Corée du Sud.
Rappelons que les États-Unis viennent de promulguer une loi de financement du Pentagone qui renforce les sanctions contre le secteur financier de l’Iran.
Selon le texte législatif, les entreprises étrangères devront désormais choisir entre Téhéran et Washington comme partenaire commercial pétrolier. Mais rassurez-vous, cela ne s’appelle pas du chantage …
Dimanche dernier, 8 janvier, le chef du Pentagone, Leon Panetta, a indiqué pour sa part que les États-Unis « répondront » par la force si l’Iran cherche à bloquer le détroit d’Ormuz, passage stratégique pour le trafic maritime pétrolier. Ce dernier évoquant même une « ligne rouge » à ne pas franchir.
Il n’existe qu’une seule Corée comme il n’existe qu’un seul Vietnam !!
