La banque centrale turque a annoncé lundi qu’elle allait lancer à partir de mardi des appels d’offres quotidiens pour la vente de dollars.
L’objectif ? renforcer les liquidités sur le marché turc tout en espérant soutenir la monnaie locale.
Parallèlement à cette annonce, la livre turque connaissait en effet un plus bas historique à 1,82 livre pour un dollar.
La banque centrale a fixé à 50 millions de dollars (39,5 millions d’euros) le volume quotidien des appels d’offres. Néanmoins le montant pourrait évoluer en fonction des conditions du marché.
L’établissement a par ailleurs annoncé qu’il pourrait procéder à la vente directe de dollars en cas d’incapacité des appels d’offre à répondre aux besoins de liquidités des marchés ou fluctuations extrêmes des taux de change.
