La crise de succession ouverte par le décès, le 15 janvier, de l’émir du Koweït,le cheikh Djaber al Ahmed al Sabah, s’est intensifiée à la veille d’un vote du Parlement sur la capacité à gouverner de son successeur désigné, le cheikh Saad al Abdallah, 76 ans, cousin du défunt.
La crise a contraint le Parlement à reporter sine die ses séances régulières et notamment un DEBAT sur un projet de 8,5 milliards de dollars de montée en puissance de la PRODUCTION PETROLIERE en partenariat avec des compagnies étrangères.
Le différend s’est intensifié lorsque le gouvernement du Premier ministre cheikh Sabah al Ahmad alSabah a demandé au Parlement de se prononcer mardi sur la capacité du cheikh Saad à assumer ses fonctions. Le nouvel émir devrait prêter serment le jour même.
